Our desire to plan, design, and shape the environment we live in has given the Netherlands its current form. However, with rising water levels and a rapidly changing climate, we may need to rethink this relationship and instead partner with our surroundings.
The Floaters are designed to adapt and move in harmony with our ever-changing landscape. Placed on the beach or in the floodplains of a river, they move with the water level. When the land is dry, these objects function as benches or stools, offering a place to rest. As the water rises, they transform into floating buoys.
By aligning with the natural rhythm of the landscape, the Floaters create a sense of harmony and foster awareness of the shifting climate.
